Hobbiest Produced SV650 Products I Endorse
With the policy change at www.svrider.com
with regards to "advertising" of hobbiest made products, I am creating
this page to endorse those products I use and support.
- Nate Reik's Frame Sliders from www.motosliders.com. These
are quality "non-pro" frame sliders for the SV650 (non S model).
Nate's a great guy to work with, his prices are very reasonable, and I
received the sliders very quickly. I have employed them in two
lowsides and they have provided excellent protection. '99 - '02
model, $42 shipped.
- Gregg's (email Burst)
ABS plastic molded undertail and license plate/turn signal
bracket. This textured plastic undertail looks very clean and
professional on any SV650(S). His customer service has been top
notch, including personally helping to install my undertail and move the
ignition module out of the trunk to conserve space. Have a look in
my detail shots for pictures: Detail Shots of
Bike Projects on page 3. $100 shipped anywhere in the US, $90
picked up in SoCal.
- Jerry at www.MotoLoco.com
makes a DeCellLight SV650 kit which attaches to a convenient vacuum line
and turns on your brake light when you use engine braking. I have
one and it was easy to install and works great. Fit and finish
were perfect. Introductory price: $52 + $5 shipping.
- Nate Maillet's (email Nate)
rearset plates. These plates will raise and move back your foot
pegs for a more "sporty" riding position and more ground
clearence. They will also protect your stock foot pegs in a crash
by bending before your pegs would break. $50, I believe.
- Peter Kielland at www.bikesliders.com
has designed really nice two part pro type sliders with aluminum bodies
and replacable pucks. He's selling them at a great intro price of
$85.
Other Products I Endorse
- Impact Saf-T Armor chest and back protectors from www.impactarmor.com. These
protectors are custom made to your measurements and then velcro
together to fit you snugly. They are used by many racers and are very
comfortable. I added velcro to the back protector using a fabric glue
to hold it into my AeroStich Roadcrafter suit. The back protector
stays in the suit and the chest protector hangs by one elastic strap;
when I put on the suit, I fasten on the chest protector before zipping
up. This allows me to wear all my gear all the time with the least
inconvenience.
- AeroStich Roadcrafter Suit from www.aerostich.com. What can I
say? This is one of the best textile suits available and often the
only textile suit useable at trackdays. It's comfortable, featureful,
and not as hot as it looks.
I have had excellent luck with the products which I am using and
hardily encourage you to contact any of the hobbiests who are producing
cutting edge products for our SV650's! If you are a producer of a
cool part for the SV650(S), come on over to www.SoCalSVRiders.com, we have
no policies against telling us about it (as far as I know).
Sincerely,
Tim Stough.
